Here is everything you must learn and know to be an officer in the Tigersharks Crew.

Firstly to be permitted to take an Officer test you need to be broad or higher in all 4 ship skills and narrow in both navigting and battle navingation ( there is no point being an officer until you have practiced these games). To unlock nav achieve the 4 broads and puzzle pirats unlock navigate on mission board for ye to practice, once achieve the narrow battle nav will then unlcok .#

Ye will also need to be able to afford 8 dubs for an officer badge to hold the rank of officer.

Once ye have these requirements speak to myself (cap) or any S.O to ask to take the test.

The test is 15 random selected questions taken from a master list we have created. to pass this test you must get 13 questions correct , 3 wrong answers and your test will stop as this is a failure. Re takes maybe requested one week later.

There are many things an officer needs to know to be able to run a sucessful pilly by themselves, remember as an officer you are in charge of the vessel and is down to you to win as much as you can and help keep the crew working as a team.
right here we go

1.When you board a vessel the first thing you must do is read officer board on the navigation wheel , this tells you who owns and the vessel restock quota.

2.Check the hold and make sure the stock has been restocked at end of last pilly (if not fully done do not use vessel, take another one and post to me on crew issues or tell an SO.)

3.If stock is ok then proceed to nav wheel and select chart vessel , this maps your journey the vessel is going to sail.
Between islands you will see dots , some ppl will see brown dots these are journeys you have sailed enough times that they have become memorised , blue dots are maps onboard each vessel. each dot is 1 sail point. so they journey of aim to pukru is 2 sail points ( usually  takes around 20 mins) however Chach to Queztal is 8 sail points so this could take over an hour. Pls do not chart longer journey than you have time to complete.
also stock quota's are for ONE island jump only , NEVER chart more than one island jump at a time , you can dock n restock and rechart if wish to go on.
You vessel will be shown as a blue boat on map. click on the island you wish to sail to then a white dotted line will appear then select chart course and the course will be locked in , this cannot be changed at sea only on a sailpoint or dock ,altho if you run into trouble you can always turn about.

4. Next select configure tab on nav wheel , the vessel will always be ticked for a pilly , unlocked crew vessels cannot be used for sea monster hunting or blockades unless you own your own vessel.
you will see a colour bar which is the difficulty selector the tabs move left n right
We are NOT permitted to attack blues as these are seen as too easy prey , the lowest we can attack is CYAN (light bluey green) these are easy or lime green (average) do NOT attack yellow / orange/red until are very good at battle nav as these are hard / very hard / impossible so keep sliders from cyan to top of green, when you ok this at bottom it will make a statment on screen saying "this vessel is attacking easy to average brigands and barbarians" which leads me to the next slider.

5.One side says brigands other side says barbarians and the slider will be in middle. Attacking a Brigand bot ship will result in a sword fight battle, attacking barbarians will give rumble, therefore when slider in middle you can attack both , but is your choice to select prefrence.

6. Under this is the PVP box , pls DO NOT tick this is player verus player battle which is other crews , only FO's ans SO's are currently pvping as we have our crew reputation to protect.
if a vessel does engage you which does happen pls just do your best to win as disenaging still counts as a loss.

7.once have charted and configured you need get crew on board , use crew chat to tell online members which vessel you are going out on , feel free to job hearties.Under the vessel tab you will see a little box that shows a person inside it , turn this on and it will place an advert for jobbers on island notice board.
When they apply just invite them under ahoy tab , game will make sound to alert you.

8. NEVER sail a sloop with less than 5 real ppl on board , bots do not win battles !!

9. once crew onboard ask everyone to take a station, some ppl may require to be order like a gunner, do this by taking your station on nav wheel then click on their name in stations list and select from list of orders, you can also do this if they failin to take stations. to shout type /shout in front of your sentance. if they still fail to respond and dont work or are using bad language or being abusive then ye have my permission to plank by using /plank then their name . pls do not plank crew members without checking they not just afk (away from keyboard) for a few mins.

10. ok so now everyone is on stations is time to set sail by clicking sail button u can use deport but this leaves you just outside port and u still need select sail after.

11. once at sea, is you job as officer is to play the nav game and too look for vessels to attack that appear in the box on your right( remember to check their size and difficulty before hitting attack button or you may attack a large vessel by mistake ! )
You also need to keep eye on vessel's condition in the 3 half circles

12. first half circle indicates vessel speed (yellow), playin the nav game triples the work of the sailors , so one sailor and one nav is worth more than 3 sailors

13. second half circle is damage to vessel (red) if this occurs you need to get carpers onto carp stations to repair holes , it is no use having bilgers until the hole is fixed unless all carp stations are full then send to bilge.

14. last half circle is water onboard - see above.

15. Next to jobbers box is AUTO target box DO NOT put on if got over half damage click it off becuase this makes your vessel attack other vessels on its own based on the levels you set before sailing in configure, you need to repair boat before next battle otherwise wont get any battle moves.Once repaired turn back on.

16.after every battle win each player recieves a share of the booty up front the vessel takes a 30% restock cut from this too , which you will recieve at end of pilly when divide booty.

17. at end of pilly once you docked your first job is to go to the chest and select divide booty , the vessel auto divides it up into even shares altho if someone you think has been very good feel free to award them +1 share same as if been very bad can do -1.

18. as officers cannot withdraw poe from a ships hold the person who divides the booty (you as officer in charge)will be paid by the boat directly into your own pocket therefore you will not only get your share of booty but also the vessels 30%.

19. HOWEVER this MUST ALWAYS be used for restocking vessel back to its minimum quota ,example. you set sail with 30 fine rum and 50 scballs and ye dock with 25 rum and 30 scballs, before you leave vessel you must purchase 5 more rum and 20 scballs to make back to 30 rum n 50 cballs.

20. if you have had a good run and won then the restock poe from vessel will cover this usually with poe left over which is yours to keep as like a bonus. ie restock poe given by boat to you was 1.5k , restock cost 500poe this means you earn 1k bonus.

21. to buy stock you must use the trade commodities board on the ships hold.

22. this is a trade board between vessels at the dock and stalls on islands, BEWARE not all islands have stock availble for sale for example there is NO restocking at MATARKI therefore DO NOT port there , if not sure ask someone, some vessels have allowed ports on thier officer board on nav wheel

23. once you opened trade board you will see a buy and sell button at top , this is only confusing bit , you are the boat they are the stalls but the board is written by them therefore a sell price is what they will sell to you for , the buy price is what they will buy from you for, make sure you understand this.

24. to buy some more fine rum , select sell at top then scroll down to fine rum (we do not use swill or grog, it runs out to fast)the first price on the board will be the cheapest sell price that we can buy it at at that time (prices change), type how many units you need in buy box then hit buy and you will see the column that says in ye hold go up , it will take payment directly from your pocket as you recieved the ships money directly into your pocket (once you reach FO will go to hold and you can restock and withdraw leftovers.)
If you need help understanding this any officer will explain more.

25. NEVER EVER leave a boat with out restocking it !!!!

26. NEVER EVER leave a vessel you took out to sea half way thro
if you must leave in an emergency then get another officer to releave you first by asking for help on crew chat.

27. if you do abandon a vessel at sea then it will port itself eventually and all its stock will be totally gone, you will be
held responsible for the cost of restocking. for a complete restock of a sloop is usually approx 5000 poe you have been warned.

28. Same as if you do take a crew vessel out and you lose and restock poe from vessel isnt enough to cover the restock you are expected to pay for the stock from your own poe.

29. You must always leave the stock level the same as you found
it

30. Each boat has a vessel log so i can see exactly who took out and what they won/lost and what they bought/sold so dont think you can get away with it , the records show everything.

31. an officer must show respect at all times to higher ranking officers altho during a pilly they will not take over , the officer or FO/SO who takes the vessel out is in charge !

32. always remember at end of pilly to try and full member as many of the jobbers as you possibly can , you do this by clicking on their heads whilst still on vessel and invite them to be a full member, if they ask about ranks tell them to read crew info page for details.

33. remember you are representing this crew at all times wether on pilly or not , any reports of abuse, swearing or scamming will result in being expelled from my crew.

34.ALWAYS read crew issues to keep up to date with any changes / info and to post to me or to the crew pls go to crew info page and select post news at bottom of page, i usually log in everyday

35. Lastly i am your Captain Goldblend , i am a adult lady and am usually addressed as capt / cap or cgb pls. I am also queen of the flag Dragon Slayers

Good luck with ye test

It's great that we're getting officer tests and such. It's like we're a big proper crew with lots of fancy requirements.

Do existing officers have to take this test?

I hope my idea about training tuesdays will be done, but I don't really mind.
